How Do You Add Terpenes To Buds?
There are a number of ways of adding terpenes to hemp and cannabis flower. Some include spraying diluted terpenes directly onto the flower, while others involve natural diffusion. Our favorite method is natural diffusion using a cotton ball.
The Cotton Ball Method
We prefer adding terpenes to flower through diffusion. This is because the terpenes infuse evenly throughout the flower without applying the liquid directly to the buds.
Things you will need:
- Air-tight glass container big enough to fit the amount of flower you are treating.
- A cotton ball and tea diffuser.
- Liquid terpenes

Recommended Flower To Terpene Ratios:
The number of drops is the amount added with a pipet to your cotton ball.
1-3.5 grams of flower: 1-2 drops
7-28 grams of flower: 3-5 drops
1 pound of flower: 1ml-1.5ml (1ml is about 48 drops)
Remember, when using terpene concentrates, start small and work your way up. The amount you apply to the cotton ball will depend on the terpene blend. That being said, experiment and find what you like.
How It Works:
Apply the liquid terpene drops onto a cotton ball to match the amount of flower you're infusing.
- Place the cotton ball into the tea diffuser and close it.
- Place the tea diffuser with the infused cotton ball into your glass jar of flower and seal it.
- Store your infused product in a dark, cool, dry place.
- Wait 24-48 hours.
- Open the jar and enjoy.
- For a stronger nose, repeat this process. Like we said, experiment to find the ratios that are ideal for you!
